CSA Preface This is the first edition of CSA Standard CAN/CSA-CEI/IEC 1000-1 -1 , Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 7 : General- Section 7 : Application and interpretation of fundamental definitions and terms , which is an adoption without modification, of the identically titled CEI/IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard 1000-1-1:1992 (first edition, 1992-04). It forms part of the CSA IEC 1000 Series of Standards covering electromagnetic compatibility. CSA Standards are developed through the dedication of time by Committee members and by financial support through sales of Standards and through voluntary contributions. Major funding in support of the consensus process for this Standard was provided by the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA), whose assistance is acknowledged with thanks. This Standard was reviewed for Canadian adoption by the CSA Technical Committee on Electromagnetic Compatibility of Low Voltage Equipment under the jurisdiction of the Standards Steering Committee on Electromagnetic Compatibility, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee. A list of the members of these Committees is available upon request. This Standard has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada. Scope The object of this report is to describe and interpret various terms considered to be of basic importance to concepts and practical application in the design and evaluation of electromagnetically compatible systems. In addition, attention is drawn to the distinction between electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests carried out in a standardized set-up and those carried out at the location where a device (equipment or system) is installed (in situ tests). The terms and their definitions are given in clause 2, with reference to chapter 161 of the IEV. II s'agit de l'adoption, sans modifications, de la norme internationale de la Commission Électrotechnique Internationale CEI/IEC 1000-1-1:1992 (première édition, 1992-04) qui porte le même titre. Elle fait partie de la sèrie de normes CSA CEI 1000 sur la compatibilité électromagnétique. Les normes CSA sont élaborées grâce au temps consacrè par les membres des comités et à l'apport financier de la vente des normes, et aussi grâce à des contributions volontaires. Une partie importante du financement de cette norme provient de l'Association canadienne de l'électricité, qu'il convient de remercier ici pour sa généreuse participation. Cette norme a été révisée en vue de son adoption pour le Canada par le Comité technique CSA sur la compatibilité électromagnétique de l'appareillage basse tension, sous L'autorité du Comité directeur de normalisation sur la compatibilité électromagnétique a été approuvée par le Comité technique. Domaine d'application Le présent rapport a pour objet de donner une description et une interprétation de divers termes jugés fondamentaux pour les concepts et l'application pratique dans le domaine de la conception et de l'évaluation des systèmes électro magnétiquement compatibles. De plus, le présent rapport attire l'attention sur la distinction qu'il convient de faire entre les essais de compatibilité électromagnétique faits dans une installation d'essai normalisée et ceux faits sur le site sur lequel un dispositif (appareil ou système) est installé (mesures in situ). Les termes à prendre en considération et leurs définitions sont donnés à l'article 2, et reposent sur le chapitre 161 du Vocabulaire Électrotechnique International. L'application de ces termes est exposée à l'article 3, tandis qu'une interprétation des définitions est donnée en annexe.
