Preface This is the first edition of CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 262, Optical fiber cable and communication cable raceway systems , one of a series of Standards issued by the Canadian Standards Association under Part II of the Canadian Electrical Code. It is written in SI (metric) units. This Standard was prepared by the Subcommittee on C22.2 No. 211 and C22.2 No. 227, under the jurisdiction of the Technical Committee on Wiring Products and the Strategic Steering Committee on Requirements for Electrical Safety, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee. This Standard has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada. Scope This Standard applies to optical fiber cable and communication cable raceway systems designed for use with optical fiber and communication cables and intended to be installed in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I. Notes: (1) Raceway systems rated FT6 may be substituted for raceway systems rated FT4 or FT1. Raceway systems rated FT4 may be substituted for raceway systems rated FT1. (2) Flame spread requirements for particular applications are governed by the applicable provincial or municipal building codes. For general guidance, see Rule 2-128, Appendices B and G of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
