PrefaceThis is the second edition of No. 10 of a series of Standards issued by the Canadian Standards Association under Part II of the Canadian Electrical Code. It supersedes the first edition published in 1933 and re-affirmed in 1949.In this edition material from the first issue has been expanded and rewritten to include advances and developments that have occurred since the Standard was first published.This Standard was prepared under the jurisdiction of the Committee on CE Code, Part II, which is subsidiary to the Committee on CE Code, Part I, and was formally approved by these Committees and the CSA Technical Council.Scope1.1This Standard applies to cord-connected, motor-operated floor surfacing and cleaning machines rated at 600 volts or less which are designed to be used in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, on an ac or dc circuit.1.2This Standard applies to commercial and industrial floor polishing machines, floor scrubbing machines, sanders, grinders or other types of surfacing machines of the hand-propelled or self-propelled type. It also applies to rug scrubbers and shampooing machines and machines combining any of these features for household, commercial or industrial use.1.3This Standard does not apply to household floor polishers which are covered by CSA Standard C22.2 No. 67, Vacuum Cleaners and Floor Polishers, or to hand-held polishers, sanders, and floor edgers which are covered by CSA Standard C22.2 No. 71, Portable Electric Tools.
